the song sung at gathering on sunday hold something dear to me.
as we gather may Your Spirit work within us
as we gather may we glorify Your Name
knowing well that as our hearts begin to worship
we'll be blessed because we came
indeed, we are bless because we came!
i went for penitential service this evening.
and, it's been in a long while since i last went.
in my mind, it was just scary. but, inspired by God's grace and love coupled with the encouragement of some others, i managed to pull myself together to attend the penitential service and did a good confession.
many things father paul goh said struck me.
i am glad God work through him to reach out to me.
confessions takeaways, (from Father)
- when you come for confessions, you have already reconcile with God because you took the first step.
- there is no point in punishing yourself with penance.
- meditate on God's Grace and Love.
- keep the commandments and it will keep you.
- ask the Lord for the Grace to Fear Him.
- never let your feelings get in the way of your faith.
- God is there no matter what.
- read the book of Ecclesiastes, Wisdom and Sirach.
this is the best confession i have made. it was deep down from my heart.
and i learnt something from this.
if you dare to commit the sin, confess it.
if you have no intention of admitting to it, dont commit the sin.
like they say, if you have the guts to do it, have the guts to admit it as well.
by God's own Grace, i am forgiven.
it goes for the same who had made an honest confession in the various district.
He showered us with Love and Mercy.
as we are prepared spiritually, we should keep the fire burning in our hearts as we await Christ second coming.
with the day of Christmas drawing near, we should keep in mind that being free from sin, we should always stay that way as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.
with a prue heart, we are able to prepare a room for the Lord in our hearts. just like where Jesus was laid in the sinless womb of Mary our Mother.
this Christmas will be a good one for me. for the Lord has truly touched me and showed me his Grace and Love. with his unconditional Love and faith in him, whom shall i fear?
scripture quote from confession this evening.
Psalm 1:1-6
Happy are those who reject the advice of evil people, who do not follow the example of sinners or join those who have no use for God.
Instead, they find joy in obeying the Law of the Lord,
and they study it day and night.
They are like trees that grow beside a steam, that bear fruit at the right time, and whose leaves do not dry up. They succeed in everything they do.
But eveil people are not like this at all; they are like straw that the wind blows away.
Sinners will be condemned by God and kept apart from God's own people.
The righteous are guided and protected by the Lord, but the evil are on the way to their doom.Labels: church
